Help me grow!
- Moderate temperatures between 16-24 degrees Celsius suit me best.
- I grow well in bright, indirect light. I need at least 6-8 hours of bright light so that my leaves are well-colored.
- Water me sparingly, 1-2 times a week is sufficient. Water only when the topsoil is dry.
- Keep my soil constantly moist but well-drained, but never waterlogged.
- A humid environment suits me. Mist me or place my pot in a pebble tray filled with water.
- Fertilize me every alternate week during the growing season (spring/summer) to help my growth.
FAQs
- The leaves of my Peacock Plant are yellowing. What could be wrong?
The most common cause of yellowing and droopy leaves is root rot caused by overwatering, especially in the winter. My roots begin to turn brown, and mushy and begin to die due to soil fungus. As the root rot progresses leaves turn yellow, wilt, or droop and then become mushy as well. It could be difficult to save me in case of root rot. - How do propagate the Peacock Plant myself?
I am easy to propagate through division. When I have grown big and strong and it’s time to repot plants, carefully divide the stem and root into two to three sections. Then repot each section into its own pot with the right soil. Care for the new plants just as you would care for an older one and they should establish root in a few weeks.
